Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things that I’m doing, posted by Groovymom.

Posting on my Blogger blog also.

  1. I’m going crazy trying to figure out where I got, "Good stuff, Maynard", from. Anyone know? I think it was a commercial.
  2. My husband and I are sitting in our room watching Planet Earth on Animal Planet.
  3. All 3 cats have joined us to watch the show. Only one of them actually looks at the TV though.
  4. We had some teriyaki chicken, rice, and salad for dinner.
  5. I’m sort of bored, I think waiting for the final HP book that’s coming out on Saturday (Friday @ midnight for those who are impatient).
  6. My diabetes is doing much better now that I’ve learned what I can and cannot eat, without looking it all up.
  7. I want to play Starcraft II like, yesterday. Long wait though.
  8. I know it’s not technically Thursday, but I won’t have time in the morning to do a list, so… here we are.
  9. You know, I think Sigourney Weaver narrates some of the Planet Earth segments. Surprisingly, I didn’t bother to check when I found the link above. I’ll have to do that later.
  10. I’m tired, I’m going to have to go to bed before midnight tonight.
  11. When I’m done watching Planet Earth, I’m going to watch Blood and Chocolate. Yeah, it will probably suck, but I don’t have high expectations so I may find it entertaining. Afterall, I freaken LOVED Reign of Fire, and I don’t know anybody else who will admit it.
  12. My husband wants an iPhone. Which means I want one now, too. You see, he talks about how cool things are, and suddenly I find myself wanting the same things. So, we’re going to be going that route sometime in the next few months.
  13. I just turned off Planet Earth. Watching foxes run in and snatch goslings out of their nests is not a visual I need before I try to go to bed. Surprisingly, werewolves (Blood and Chocolate), won’t phase me.

Stuid-ass cat

Zeus is trying to kill me. He woke me at 5:45a for no reason other than he wanted to talk. Zeus is part siamese. He talks incessantly, and wants me to respond in kind. He doesn’t seem to care what I say, it can be human or cat speak. Cat speak for me is mimicking his funky little mao mao mao that sounds nothing like a meow. Of course, if he gets no response from me, I then get a cold cat nose in my ear and a long, drawn out, maaaaaaaoooooooooooo, in case the previous 20 times weren’t heard. So, I get up and go to the living room, and once he’s satisfied that I am sitting, alert and attentive, he proceeds to chase, pounce, and basically torment our sweet baby Lulu kitty. Lu is older than Zeus, and was here a few years before Zeus, but as his name implies, he is…Zeus. He rules this realm, and all those who insist on living in it.

If he wakes me up like that again on the weekend, he’s going to be dinner.

No use cryin'

So, I have Type 2 Diabetes. My mom has
it, but has it under control with diet. I just found out today, and
have nothing under control. I have an appointment 1 week from today
with the Dietitian, and hopefully I won’t end up miserable and
immensely pouty when she gives me my new way of eating. I love ice
cream, do they even make sugar free ice cream?

I’m so pissed, why did I bother to lose weight and exercise if I
ended up with what it was I was trying to avoid anyway? I feel like I
did it for nothing. I know that’s not logical, but I’m not feeling
logical right now, I’m just really pissed off. I’ll get over it.

Movin' on up

Or something like that. We’re leaving the state we’re in, to go to a new one. I won’t "say" where, but I’ll give hints. We’re going to go see the Mariners play ball sometime this summer, the kids haven’t been to a professional game before, and I think they’ll have a blast. So.. now you know. We’re going because my husband got a new job, and we’re all really excited. I’ll also finally live around some family for the first time. Not lots of family, just enough to have something to do on holidays. For now, we’ve got United Van Lines set to come on the 7th to pack us and 8th to load up. Then the kids and I get to spend the 8th and 9th night in sleeping bags on the floor until the 10th when we move from here. Since my husband is already there, we’ve already got a place and we’re just waiting to fill it with our junk.

Good to be home

I love going on vacation, but even more, I love coming home after a vacation. My bed feels even better than it did before I left; the streets seem friendlier, as well as the drivers. My home may not be the best home, but it’s mine, and it feels good to be here.

Talking about Green Comet

I get this e-mailed to me, and I thought I’d share the info.

Quote

Space Weather News for March 20, 2007

http://spaceweather.com

GREEN COMET: There’s a new comet in the southern hemisphere: Comet Lovejoy (C/2007 E2). Terry Lovejoy of Australia discovered it on March 15th using, remarkably, not a telescope but only an off-the-shelf digital camera. The green comet is too dim to see with the naked eye, but it is a nice target for backyard telescopes. After five days of monitoring, the comet’s orbit is now known with some accuracy and it is possible to make predictions about Comet Lovejoy’s future movements and brightness.

Visit http://spaceweather.com for details.

BONUS–VENUS AND THE MOON: When the sun goes down tonight, step outside and look west. You’ll see Venus and the slender crescent Moon beaming together through the glow of sunset. If you miss the pair on March 20th, try again on the 21st. They will be beautifully close together on both nights.

A better day

It’s not very pretty outside, but I’m feeling less down today, regardless. I’d probably feel more of a boost if it was sunny and I could open the windows without the threat of pneumonia. Still, I am feeling a little better. Classes are going… well, all right. Surprisingly, my algebra class isn’t the most difficult for me. It’s American National Government. Why??? I find it interesting, and informative, yet somehow it’s beating my ass into the ground. *sigh* I had no idea that adding just 1 extra class to my class load was going to drain me to the point of inaction. I don’t have energy to do even the simplest of things, like eating. I knew I’d find a great diet someday.     So, it’s Friday, and this makes me happy. I can sleep in, which makes class work easier to focus on, since I’m able to focus right away. Woo!

So down

I feel so down, and so much like curling into a ball and not doing anything. I feel disappointed, but I don’t know why. I feel like I’ve been bullied and treated like an unwanted dog, but that’s not the case at all. I’m so frustrated with people in general, I do know that much.
