Baklava

CJ made some amazing baklava on Saturday! I don’t know if she took a picture, but if she did I’ll have her post it.

On a side note, we tried for the second and third times yesterday, to get CJ her drivers permit. One place was closed permanently,  and the other was closed for MLK’s holiday. That poor girl, I know I’d be so disappointed! We will try again next weekend.

Trip to Mt Rainer

AJ had a trip to Mt. Rainier on Friday. Here are some pictures she got with her cell phone. Amazing how well they turned out! I can’t tell you the name of what she’s looking at here, just know they were all either on the way up there, or while she was walking around.

Spring concert

AJ recorded this for us. Her hands were a little shaky, and some whispering was going on, but you still can enjoy the concert. Good job AJ and CJ!

You’re Eating … What? – 1 – Men’s Health: Slide Show – MSN Health & Fitness

You’re Eating … What? – 1 – Men’s Health: Slide Show – MSN Health & Fitness

Want some dead bugs with your dinner? Well, that’s just one of the freaky ingredients involved in making some popular processed foods. And while all seven of these sound incredibly icky—though presumably used to help make your food tastier or look better—some additives are decidedly more disturbing than others. Here’s what you’re eating—which may inspire you to start contemplating those ingredient labels a lot more closely.

If people are bothered by it, why don’t they just speak up? “Hey stop putting artificial bug coloring in our food”! Back it up with some, “I’m boycotting your food until you change it”, and manufacturers will listen. It’s worked before, Google it and see.

Indubitably

The sentence that my mom (hi mom!) had me practice was a simple but effective way to get me to enunciate clearly. What they’re supposed to be trying to say is…

Indubitably, that is specifically, though not particularly a necessity.
I said this when I was.. what was it, 10 years old? I never forgot it, and trying to teach it to a 14 and 13 year old seems impossible.

Late conversation heart post.

We forgot to post our experiment in making our own conversation hearts. It was a fun and definitely, silly time for us. The only problem we ran into was not rolling out the candy thin enough, so that even after about 5 days, the candy still was not dry in the middle of the thicker hearts. It was kind of eww. Other than that, the rest were fine, and if we make them again, we’ll use more flavors than just vanilla.
